Asianet Dataline Auto Login
by VARKEY on Jun.21, 2010, under Internet
Asianet had migrated to a new system Mettle Wire few months back and here is how you can set up the Auto Login for night downloads.
For this you need the following
First install Python to a location of your choice ( I used C:\login\Python ) Next extract the login script to C:\login. Open the login script with a text editor like Notepad and update the username and password. Do not use Microsoft Word as it may alter the file.
Now open JIT Scheduler and click the ‘New’ task button on top and enter the details as shown in the images below to login automatically at the specified time. Also repeat the process every 5 minutes in case you are automatically logged out by the system.
You may need to update the command in the first image depending on the location you installed Python and where you extracted the login script.
After creating the task, right click on the task and select ‘Task Properties’ and change the option in Window to Minimized in the System menu as shown in picture so that login script is run in the background.
Now you need to create another task to shutdown the system at 8 AM and can be done as shown below.
If you are facing any problems, leave a comment.

Hi, varkey.
am on asianet 475 plan, asianet is limiting my download speeds. and am getting verylimited download speeds from 2-8 am. Can you tell me some trick to bypass these limit?
thanks
June 22nd, 2010 on 10:47 pm
Hari – Yes the speeds on torrents are less comparatively. Try to use a good private tracker with good number of seeds and you should be able to download about 9GB+ per night.
With public trackers the speeds are terrible.
You can also use direct http downloads like MegaUpload, Rapidshare etc which gives really awesome speeds.

hi, varkey. i am planning to get a rapidshare/megaupload account. the fact that prevents me from buying is that whether asianet will limit my speed after downloading (20 gb) in a month. by the way am in the plan HOMENET475 at trivandrum.
in this plan by calcuation i can download 10,800 mb per day.
wil there be any limits.
if you are using that private trackers, are you able to download 9 gb per day. continuously per month. thats ~300 gb per month ???
July 7th, 2010 on 12:25 am
Yes Rapidshare / Megaupload will work fine. You will be able to max out your connection. But rapidshare will be quite expensive with their recent pricing changes etc if you need to download 5 GB+ per day.
You can expect practically 9GB avg if using Megaupload / Rapidshare.
Yes its possible to use close to 250-270 GB per month if you keep it running every night. Some days internet will be down during the night, no electricity, nothing to download etc so I have never reached that much.

yea. thats a good news. i am interested in rapidshare as there is a happy hour with them. its from 5:30 am to 1:30 in IST. So. i can download from 5:30 to 8:00 am about 4500 MB
thats great

^ You need not put any quotes.
You also need to uncheck the “Quote Command automatically in ‘Application’ tasks” option in the Services –> Sechduler Options –> System Settings

ADL Autologin is designed for Asianet Dataline users, especially those on Limited Data Packages.
It has been a frequent problem to keep manually logging in with your Username and Password each time you want to browse the Internet.
Sometimes you may want to Login to ADL as soon as the computer is booted up.
Other times you may want to login or logout at specific times. Especially those on the very popular HOMENET475 package get free browsing from 2:00 AM to 8:00 AM. It is quite a chore to keep awake and to download what you need at 2:00 in the morning all the time. Methods are available but are cumbersome for those with little programming experience.
Also, there is no fast way to find out how much of your monthly quota of Data you have used. You have to make a separate login and then only you can find out your total usage. Sometimes you exceed the allotted limits because you failed to notice that you overstepped the limits. And then you have to pay excess charges at very high rates!
Now ADL AutoLogin is here to rescue you from all these problems.
